My 1995? L2950 does nothing turning ignition key to start. New battery, cleaned all terminals. I had taken the cowl off to repair a hydraulic line to power steering. There was one red wire that I don't remember where it was connected. It appears to me, previously someone had added this faded red wire from the small wire from the starter solenoid (to the ignition switch?) Being wiring diagram illiterate, I don't know how to read the wiring diagram as to its proper placement in order to start this tractor

Someone has bypassed the normal system for whatever reason.

They ran the wire to the switch directly bypassing the relays and safety switches.
It's run like the red line.
bypassing the starter relay is hard on the key switch.
You can use a test light to see which terminal on the switch is hot when the key is in the start position.
Should be a terminal labeled ST

Thank you for the readable (to me) diagram. I figured they must have had a problem and bypassed it. Now I can proceed to rewire it properly and test the safety switches ( only 2, the PTO and forward/reverse lever, no seat safety switch-probably removed?) and the starter relay. I did find a terminal loose where the red wire must have been wired in as the tractor started right up. First I've got to mow the pasture that is three weeks past due then do the rewire.

No seat switch on that model.
If you run into issues just ask, I have a l3450, so same wiring.
