L2900 Glow Plug Light Stays on Initially

Hi, I'm new to the forums and this is my first post. I have a 1996 or so L2900. When I turn the key the glow plug light comes on and then stays on and never goes off until I crank the tractor. So I go ahead and crank the tractor and as soon as I do the glow plug light goes off and remains off (never comes back on). Tractor seems sluggish to crank or much harder to crank in the winter and the tractor is not used much.

This issue seems to be a little different than the issue I have read about on other posts with controller issues where the light comes on when running. My tractor has low hours and is in mint condition, dont think its ever sat outside over night.

Glow relay or glow controller failing. WSM has diagnosis to know which one is failing. Either that or you can just order new ones and throw them at it and hope one of them fixes it.

lugbolt, thanks for the reply. I was thinking it could be either of those from some of the other posts that I read but the symptoms seemed a little different as others have the light come on while the engine is running but mine doesnt do that so I was thinking it could be something different.

Not sure what WSM is? I'll have to try to look up the parts to see how much they are. If they arent that expensive I'd be willing just to replace both relay and controller.
