L2800 Stalls

We have a Kubota L2800 - it's 13 years old and we've had no problems with it until now. But it has suddenly started stalling. I can make about 3 rounds of the pasture (approx. 15 minutes) with the PTO on and cutting before it will suddenly stall and then either won't start back up or will start up for a few seconds and stall again. When I come back out to the pasture about 30 minutes later, it will start right up but will do the exact same thing again - 15 minutes with the bushhog running and then stall again. We had it serviced and lubed - only thing that wasn't changed was the hydraulic fluid for the 4 wheel drive but the serviceman said it looked clear and there was no need to change it. But I'm having the same problem. I tried driving around the pasture without the bushhog engaged - went around 6 times without any problems but when I engaged the bushhog, the tractor immediately stalled just like before. I would appreciate any ideas as to what may be causing this.

Also maybe check fuel filter. And fuel tank may not be breathing - could loosen cap to see if that's the problem.

How full is the tank?

According to this post there are two safety switches that are actuated by the PTO lever. I would check the resistance of those 2 switches(hopefully you have a multi-meter) - I am guessing that the switch that is associated with the OPC(operator presence control) circuit which will stop the engine when the operator stands up and the seat safety switch opens has high resistance and as the current flows through the switch the high resistance causes the contacts in the switch to heat up causing higher resistance and eventually causing the OPC to sense that you have stood up and kills the engine. It could also be the seat safety switch as I have not looked at the L2800 wiring diagram to evaluate.

Bad or maladjusted seat switch would be my first look. ;)

I have a Kubota L2800 and it has started loosing RPM's after about 30 minutes around the field a couple of times. If I move the shift back up to 2400 it will run for awhile longer. But the RPM keeps falling. If I lift my foot from the gas it will recover for a few minutes and I can continue to cut the high grass ( medium grass) for awhile. it seems to run fine as long as the bush hog is not running. I have drained the fuel and changed out the fuel filter and added new gas to it and it seems to run a bit better but will eventually do the same thing. I appreciate any help because I can't afford to send it out to get it fixed. Thank you!!

When did you last blow out or change your air filter?
I blew the the radiator out about a week and a half ago. Haven’t change the air filter only the fuel filter. Which one is the air filer? Sorry I’m just learning my husband use to take care of this but he is deceased so I’m learning how to work on it. Thanks

Open the hood, Silver latch on top, twist it. In the front, just above the battery. Black round, maybe 5" around by a foot long. There are two clips on the right side of the air housing that holds the top.

Do you have compressed air to blow it out? I would buy a new one and just replace it...
