Tractor is fairly new to me, first winter with it and temps have been 12-30 degrees F for the last 10 days.....

Kubota L2650, Shuttle Shift, 4x4. 2500 Hours.

factory front end loader, has prompt response and full range lift and curl

tiller on the 3 point hitch, prompt response, goes up and down great

Hydraulic oil in sight bubble seems to be a little full... maybe a little above the 3/4 mark.... (I think the fluid may be some of whatever was in there when I got it and some tractor supply premium fluid)

Now, the tractor will go forward and backward in low range gear 1 but gear 2, 3 or 4 the tractor becomes labored and is obviously not proper.

High range we dont move at all in any gear. I have let it warm up for 20 minutes and moved all my shifter leavers, high low range, 4 wheel drive selector...

I wonder if this fluid is the problem? I am scared that I have a more serious problem. I had a FEL lift cylinder go out in early November and my fluid got low and the tractor would not move. I fixed the cylinder and topped the fluid off and everything seemed great until this week.

Any ideas are welcomed, also following other similar threads,

thanks

If you have all hydraulic functions and the tractor only moves in low gears, then my thoughts turn to a clutch.

Is the clutch free pedal adjusted 10-30 mm of free play?

Make sure it is adjusted up and then get the unit moving at the highest gear you can get and stomp on the brakes. If the unit comes to a stop but the engine is still revving high RPMS then the clutch is junk.

Is the tractor a EC (Ever Clutch)?
Sure sounds like it is.
It's also called a L2650-WET.
If it is, It has a wet clutch and not a dry clutch.
That would explain why when low on fluid it wouldn't move.

#1 thing is if it's an EC then your using the wrong fluid, and that will cause you a lot of issues.

If it is an EVERCLUTCH what fluid should be in it?

Try using Mystic JT-5, Its way cheaper than Kubota UDT and it flows a little better.
I use that in my L3450GST that has the same style clutch packs, and have had excellent results for years.

Get as much fluid out of it as you can, drain the mid PTO plug and the 2 axle case plugs along with the gear case, and change filter.

Hopefully this improves the operations.
Next step is to start tearing into different system components and testing pressures.
Not to scare you but if it's a true clutch issue there are not individual parts to repair it you would have to buy the whole clutch assembly (if still avalible) and it's somewhere in the range of $4500.00 for it.
