Fuel pump not moving fuel. Have new pump. 2 bolts hold it on, can't get a wrench on them. Any tricks?

Sometimes you have to grind down a socket, to make it skinny enough to get to some bolt heads... Also, google crowsfoot wrench. Make sure you have a shop manual to make sure you don't mess up timing. You are talking about injector pump, right? :D:D

Talking about fuel pump below injector pump. Held on by 2 10mm bolts, just really hard to get to with hoses in the way and bolts being behind pump. If I need to buy some kind of offset wrench that would be OK. Fuel an hydraulic lines are original and Kubota really makes them stay on. I don't want to destroy a well installed line.

Thank you for responding.

I had forgotten about crowsfoot wrenches. Harbor Freight has for $10. I will jump on a set today. Thanks

Caution about using Harbor Freight crowfoot wrenches---chrome flaked off and sliced my hand deeply before I noticed it (they gave my money back but didn't appreciate my dripping blood on their counter). Get Craftsman, better deal overall. Something less than hundred bucks the set.

Another aspect: a true 'crowfoot' wrench looks like a standard open-end wrench with a tab for a ratchet male-end. I've had little luck with these things because they'll slip and round-off the fastener hex head.

Instead---assuming you have room to use one in this pump removal application---consider obtaining and using a "crowfoot flarenut" ratchet-driven wrench. Much like a crowfoot but also like a flarenut or 'line' wrench the wrench head 'wraps around' the fastener and is usually somewhat thicker to accomdate the 'one-hex-wide' cutout of the wrench body.

Again, Craftsman for the best buy I can find.

You get a quality crowfoot flarenut wrench on a fitting or fastener and you can lean on it as hard as you can and it won't damage the item being removed. A (non-Kubota OEM) low-grade fastener can be twisted off before the crowfoot flarenut wrench slips.

Ideal for use working on hydraulic line fittings.

If not Sears try eBay for mobile-distributor brands. Pricey, but worth every penny.

Please post back your continuing experiences so we may all learn.

The "fuel pump" is not a fuel pump, it's a lift pump, does almost zero work, it puts out no pressure and only hands off the fuel.
It's main use is when the fuel tank is low and the level of the fuel is below the injection pump, it then lifts the fuel up to the injection pump.

What issue are you having?

Wanted to close the loop on fuel pump remove. Harbor freight crows foot wrenches too bulky. No way socket, Found a small, slim 12mm box open and just tiny turns for first 3 threads, loosen them both the same amount and the spring loaded fuel pump will come up as you loosen and give you enough room for 1 flat at a time.
