Hello- I am new to this board and a new owner of an old orange tractor. I have had many older tractors in the past (Fords, Farmalls, Minneapolis-Molines), in fact this 197? Kubota L260 is the newest tractor I've ever owned!

Anyhow, the main shift lever is all afloat, it spins around in a complete circle!. I will be moving the old girl into the shop tonight and pulling the trans cover/shifter assembly off. I have the original owners manual/parts list (cover is missing) and I can see the parts of this shifter, but the diagram is a bit unclear. Does pin #19 (p/n 32240-2385) act to keep the shifting cane from spinning around? Any ideas as to what I should be looking for?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes I do believe you are right, that pin should keep the shifter lever from spinning around, there is normally a slot in the ball that it engages. ;)
