Was doing some brush hogging along a tree line and hit some bigger brush/branches and the engine just shut off. Now it won’t even turn over. Shear pin didn’t even break. I unhooked the pto shaft and still nothing. Is there some sort of safety mechanism I’m unaware of.

I think we need some clarity, did hitting the big stuff bog it down and kill the engine, or did it just die like it was shut off?
And when you said it won't turn over do you mean it won't crank, or won't start?

Didn’t bog down and I didn’t stall it out. It just shut off. Now it won’t even turn over. Tried to jump it off too. Nothing.

Battery or Battery cables come to mind, or Main fuse.

It sounds like it died because it lost power.

Sounds like you shook something electrical lose like a battery terminal. If it won';t start, trade it on a new one......
