Last week I pickup a rough L2250 dual clutch that was leaking hydraulic fluid between the clutch housing and the engine. When I split the tractor about a gallon or 2 of white fluid poured out from the clutch housing which should be dry. The hydraulic fluid is white due to water intrusion. I have ordered all of the seals and O rings used on the front of the transmission and will replace them when they are delivered. My question is can anyone identify the circled item? I tried to turn it with a moderate amount of force and it will move slightly but will not turn. It is located next to the PTO engagement shaft. Just want to make sure that is not where the leak came from.

I'm not 100% sure , but I think that is the end of shift fork rod, the only way to get to it is to take the rest of the transmission apart, there is an O-ring on the end of the shaft that seals it. ;)
