L1501DT engine same as L1500 engine?

Much to my surprise I have found a engine that might work!
What I have found is a kubota L1500 engine, I own a L1501DT tractor. My question to OTT is, are these engines interchangeable? Thanks

if this information is accurate (and often it is not) the engines are in the same family so may work or maybe can combine engine parts to rebuild the engine that came originally in the tractor.

They are close, but not quite the same. Not sure about swapping it, but they do share quite a few of the same parts. Big issue is gonna be where it bolts to the tranny. If they have the same bolt pattern and shaft size, then I say go for it

I agree with both of you, the engines share lots of the same parts and if the new to me one dose not match up with my transmission, then it will make a good parts downer for the old one.
