There was a lengthy thread about this back on 10/12/19 started by kubix. I’m having the same problem with my unit. His solution was to loosen the tamper proof bolts holding the injectors in the body. Then slightly rotating the “barrels” slightly clockwise. I’ve watched several YouTube vids of people tearing apart these pumps and now have some idea of how they function. My question is can this be done with the pump still bolted into the block with the fuel lines still attached? Just don’t see how I can get the barrels to move any. On a kx61-2the pump is almost impossible to get to the way the motor is mounted. There is a panel that gives limited access to this area behind the seat but is a bugger to get at.

If this is a new unit, then have the dealer fix the problem. You bought a warranty along with the tractor built into the purchase price. If you screw it up, the dealer is going to charge you to fix it, and it isn't going to be inexpensive.

Has someone messed with the fuel adjustment screw? If you back them out enough, you could have this problem. I don't advise moving the plunger barrels. However moving them clockwise if my memory serves should decrease max fueling. This adjustment is more for final pump assembly tolerances. Adjusting this should not be needed as the cam wears it actuates the roller less, and later in timing. You may just have worn rings if this machine is severely worn out. Does it have much blowby through the valve cover vent, or oil cap?

3200 hrs, 16+ years old. Not any significant blow by. A little oil around the valve cover.
Like the original thread years ago, this machine runs just fine, as long as you are “working it”. Any controls or track movement, just if you have to stop for a few seconds rpms build up fast.

If that engine is old enough it has one rack spring for idle/fuel,(flywheel side) and one for max rpm(timing cover side).
