Hi everyone first post here,

So I've got a kx41 its the first model, I figure about a 1994. It has about 2900hrs, but the hour meter cable doesn't turn. Anyways.

I do the oil changes, filters, grease it, wash it, it's a good little unit, but I don't use it much. However, I have a slow main boom lift, so if I'm loading or unloading a dump trailer, or digging a hole it's a pain. It lacks power, and even when it hits full movement, it doesn't bog the engine like other functions (everything else works great).

It works better when the machine is cold however.

I always thought, bad hydraulic line, bad cylinder etc, but the other day I learned something. On my hand control, left right curls the bucket, front back lifts the main boom.if I pull the lever down on a 45 deg to curl and lift at the same time, as soon as the bucket is fully curled, BOOM the main boom lifts fast and powerful!. Same goes at any time the bucket is curled and I pull the handle down to do both functions.

So, anyone have any ideas??

Sounds like the linkage is out of adjustment.

Get the WSM and it should explain out to adjust the linkage.

If you give me the Mini Ex's serial number, I might be able to find or tell you which manual to get.

One easy thing to check (if you haven't already) is to remove the floor panels and look for impacted dirt around the linkage. I have had that cause strange things before. I have fixed it several times with a pressure washer.

I checked the plunger on the valve body, in getting full movement in direction I need it, I also washed everything its clean

The next valve function beside the one in having issues with is the curl. The one that once goes to the bypass allows the other one to lift with full power.

A friend of mine who used to work for bobcat, said to unscrew the bypass and check for debris, or the valve body may be leaking/cracked internally and they often use heat cameras to look for leaks.

He said to mark the line positions with various coloured zip ties if I plan to remove the valve body for inspection.
