have problem with right final drive. Under load condition right side final drive will not spin all the time. Seems to be related more when machine oil is hot. Left side no issues. Is there a rebuild of the final drive, or is it even that? Any ideas?
If you are lucky, you might only have to replace an axle in the final drive. I have them break occasionally and they sometimes behave as you describe. . My son can repair that break in a couple of hours. Kubota sells all the internal part separately. To completely rebuild a Kx-71 the parts are around $900.00. If you decide to do the job yourself. you will have to either buy a tool to remove and re tighten a large item inside the unit. We built one that works well enough. This job can be a bear but it beats buying the thing new. I have never seen one for my smaller machines for less than $2500.00. I haven't found anyone to do a rebuild either. I hope your problem is something else.
Rick, Pick the track up with the boom. Then while in the air, run the track forward and reverse and have some one listen for noise in the final drive. It's easier to hear with the track off. Try it with the track on first. It may be loud enough as is. I have my fingers crossed hoping it's the controller. I haven't had a controller problem yet so I don't have any info on troubleshooting that.
