Howdy folks,

As the title says, this machine will not go into 5th and 6th gear; all the other gears work ok, although the gear shift level feels a bit stiffer than usual. It has 2000hrs on it and is the HDDC 24 speed.
High/Low works well, just thought I would see if this was a common problem before I start taking things apart. I did a quick search too..

Thank you for any advice!

I would start here and make sure there is no debris built up around it.

Then check the linkage.

Pretty much anything else is going to be internal.

Removing the boot on the shifter will let you see the top, but the rest will be tucked under it.

Thank you. But I was referring to is there a panel on the top of the transmission which unbolts? It FWM is not super clear on it. Similar to the shift tower on a regular tranny.
Look on the RH side of the transmission case.
