I have twice had to have the tank in my BX23s removed and cleaned. Has anybody designed an access plate (similar to an oil pan on a car) to allow drainage and cleaning without removing the tank?

twice ? man once was enough for me... some foreign piece of plastic blocked the exit spigot...so I now have a $2 strainer on the filler pipe. several guys use cold coffee filters ($10 us, 40 up here.....)
since tank is a 3 chambered design ,you'd need 3 'plates' not just one.
Kubota quoted me 3 hrs of labour for out-clean-in. It wasn't a hard job for me ,though a 2nd pair of hands, to lift seat assy and floor pan would really have helped !

As a retired computer geek it's not something I'd care to try. $630 @ dealer. Now that I have it back I'll experiment with filters.

I'm still a 'computer geek'.... r+r the tank was simpler than learning C for the PICs.
I did buy an alternative filter (Kubota) to the 1st one..one day I may install it,have just under 800 hrs, so about 400 since the tank cleaning.

Curious.....those that had to clean out their tanks. was any additive ever used? Did the machines sit for long periods? Do you have a guess what caused it?

I have not had a problem since buying my new BX in 2017 almost 500 hrs. Have only changed my filters once. I use that (name?) diesel power white bottle in every jug of fuel I buy except for summer when I occasionally use their fuel tank cleaner. I do buy my off road diesel at a station that has a huge turnover.

Here's why I had to clean my tank. That's a 'sliver' of plastic that blocked the 'spigot' that feeds fuel from the tank to the tractor.
Inside of the tank was clean, NO yucky ,filmy 'slime' just the 'blocker'.

I tried that additive but by then it was too late. I recently discovered that so far this year 6 of us Kubota owners in a small town have run into this. There's only 3 diesel dealers in town; 1 sells off road.
