i have a d750 kubota engine that i am putting in something else and i came to find out there is no water pump! Is it possible to just unbolt the "dynamo" and bolt the ebay water pumps for the d650 750 850 and 950's in place?

Hi JD - I own a tractor with that engine but haven’t pulled the front of the engine apart so I don’t know if the water circulates there. You are on the right to be sure it does not over heat in the new application. Other folks here are great with parts diagrams so I expect you will get a direct answer shortly.
Post a few more times and then you can add pictures.:)

Your D750 uses a thermosyphon cooling system. Many a Kubota tractors have these and they have run for massive number of hours.

What is your application you want to use this engine for? Hope it is for another diesel motorcycle !!!! :D

:D Well its kind of a motorcycle:p lol, its actually a tar or blacktop heater/pump im just worried that since the old cooling system was set up for a pump that it may overheat.

I think you would have to use a Gear case and other parts off of a D850 or D950 in order to get a water pump.

Or would it be best to run constantly?
There is no thermostat in that engine, so just throwing on a water pump will not work, you need to regulate the temp in the engine, the thermo siphon system does that on it's own, and no putting a temp switch on it (where is a good question) will not work either.

If you did it like that you would push cold water in a now hot engine and things are going to crack!
Thermostats are not just on or off, they vary the flow to the temp needed to regulate the internal temp of the engine.

yup... to use an electric you would have to mock up a correct tractor/automotive thermostat. As I mentioned earlier, and reinforced by NIWM, thermosyphon system may work just fine for you.
