I have a question regarding the clutch on my B2320 with HST. The owners manual makes mention of pushing in the clutch during startup, is this necessary? From what I'm reading I'm understanding that I need to use the clutch when changing between low, medium and high range, when changing between 2 and 4 wheel drive and when engaging/disengaging the pto, is that correct?

It's necessary is if it has a safety switch on it, as it won't start without pushing it in.

Is it a good idea to do all the time, my opinion yes, as it's easier on the starter and engine (less drag) and it's easier on the HST pump as you will get fluid moving threw it before engaging it.
Another benefit is safety, better to have things disengaged mechanically they to expect a switch to do it for you!
