45 mm or 1 13/16 would be my guess. I used an 1 7/8 wrench and locked the front shaft with a 3' pipe wrench. Only way I could get a 1 13/16 or 45 mm wrench was to special order one. Happened to have the 1 7/8 for work.

Measure from flat spot to flat spot where a wrench would normally sit and it should get you the correct size. Or pretty darn close :D

I was imagining a rattle gun would be the only way but will give your method a go.... looks hard to get a good grab on the nut but if you did it no reason i cant

Sorry buddy. I forgot some models had the nut recessed. On the recessed ones you may have to get creative. A deep well socket is needed. And then, on some models it still didn't reach. So they had to modify the socket by cutting it in half and welding a piece of pipe in between.

I use a 46mm axle nut socket. It's a yamaha special tool, and fits quite well on "most" kubota's. I'll see if I can find the number on it.
