I have a K348-7 mower deck which I purchased in 1981 and it is still giving me good service coupled with my B2920 . Recently I bent one of the blade holders while mowing paths in my field when I hit a rock. I found a replacement part (70080-00100) but I have a question about removal of the damaged part. Has anyone ever dealt with this part change? The parts diagram shows the blade holder is on the shaft with a woodruff key and apparently held in place by the blade and nut attached below it. As my deck is 45 years old and kind of rusty in this area, I am wondering how the blade holder is supposed to come off the shaft? It certainly is tightly on there and doesn't move at all. Does anyone know how you get this blade holder off the shaft?

Your very likely going to need to cut / split it to get it off the shaft.

Thanks for feedback. But unfortunately the outfit that listed having the blade holder available just informed me that it is no longer in stock . Since the blade holder is bent I was now hoping I could just get it off the spindle and then use the heat from my acetylene torch to bend it back straight . Of course having been in place on that spindle for 45 years with rust and all it is not an easy proposition now. Was wondering if a heavy duty hydraulic gear puller would get it off after a good application of Kroil penetrant?
