Just changed the hyd/trans fluid on my L245DT. Got close to about 8g of the old stuff. It's like a murky/milky brown fluid. Anyways I was trying to find if any bleeding is needed after the changed but couldn't find anything. Better to ask then assume. Thanks guys.

Nope, no bleeding required, will unless you skin a knuckle doing it, then bleeding is optional depending on depth!:p;)

The color you describe indicates that you have water getting into the transmission. If you store it outside you may want to try and keep it covered

Milky hyd oil can also be caused from a clogged breather on trans case not allowing condensation to exit hyd sump when hyd oil reaches operating temp.

What about the oil in his cylinders and line to fel/bh?
Do they need to be purged if the oil is contaminated?

Ray
Not really, it's a very small amount in comparison to the amount of oil in the case.
Would it be good to do, yes, but it's far from easy to do.

Where is this breather that you are talking about? The previous owners did leave it outside the entire time they had it.

Yes all the fluids will get exchanged, cylinders will take just one cycle of the rams to exchange.
Air in the system will be gone in the blink of an eye.

Vent looks like a sideways question mark, and is located under the seat on the clutch side of tractor. It screws out. Mud dobbers love them.
