You appear to have a B7100DT with B1600C loader running off tractor hydraulics. The loader is ahead of the tractor relief valve and sets the maximum system pressure.I have an old B7100 and I want to increase the hydraulic pressure a bit. Its weight won't let it lift too much but I would like to get more out of it than I currently did. I heard there are shims are something you can install somewhere to increase pressure. Any advice is appreciated View attachment 168239
Will that also increase the lifting power of the 3 point hitch? I bought a stump grinder and it probably lacks 150 lbs of lift or less from being able to get it comfortably off the ground. You appear to have a B7100DT with B1600C loader running off tractor hydraulics. The first thing you need to do is buy a pressure gauge and test your hydraulic pressure at the loader. The loader valve contains a pressure relief valve adjusting screw.

Short answer - YES.Will that also increase the lifting power of the 3 point hitch? I bought a stump grinder and it probably lacks 150 lbs of lift or less from being able to get it comfortably off the ground.
Thank you. I look will in to get a pressure gauge.Short answer - YES.
We had this exact discussion just a few months ago. The B1630 loader is somewhat unique in that it operates at significantly lower pressure than the tractor hydraulics. As a result it reduces the lifting power of the 3pt. If you raise the loader operating pressure you bring the 3pt closer to specification but you exceed the safety setting on the loader. Pick your poison.
Thats why before doing anything you need to determine what pressure you currently have. If its below the loader specification you may have a pump rather than relief valve problem.

Cheap and easy to get. Heres just one of many. You will need an adapter to hook it to the valve - 1/4 female.Thank you. I look will in to get a pressure gauge.
I got the gage installed and was under so I turned the yellow knob under the seat all the way to the right and all I get is 1600 psi total.Cheap and easy to get. Heres just one of many. You will need an adapter to hook it to the valve - 1/4 female.

I realize this is right where it should be with 1700 the recommended max. I have no more adjustment left in that screw. How can I get it up to 1700 or even slightly over!I got the gage installed and was under so I turned the yellow knob under the seat all the way to the right and all I get is 1600 psi total.
Correct. I dont know what the "yellow knob" is but the loader will always determine max pressure at the 3pt.I'm pretty sure you need to adjust the loader relief valve first to get the system pressure up.
OH, The yellow knob is not pressure it's drop speed.Correct. I dont know what the "yellow knob" is but the loader will always determine max pressure at the 3pt.

Imagine my surpriseOH, The yellow knob is not pressure it's drop speed.
