Identifying single/dual clutch L3250

I have a 1988 L3250 4x4. The operators manual states these tractors were either single or dual clutch. How do I identify which one mine is?

If it is a dual stage clutch, when you push in the clutch half way it will stop the tractor but your pto will still turn. Push the clutch totally in and it will stop the tractor and the pto.

Thanks, I thought that would be the answer, but the selection instructions in the manual state 'lift lockout latch and move lever to desired position'. If this was done with the engine running there would be trouble!! I always have to engage the PTO before starting the engine which seems to me to be savage on the starter.

Sounds like you have a dual stage that the PTO stage is stuck!
