This is a 70hp tractor at half price. Even the added costs of emissions cannot explain how this is so cheap.

What do you think? are these special tires specifically designed for rice paddies or maybe road use with big lugs?

Of course, they are ripping off all kinds of designs, so I'd have to wonder if it isn't counterfeit.

From a Kubota Global press release:

Production of tractors starting in China
December 19, 2012
Kubota Corporation (hereinafter "Kubota") will begin the mass production of tractors at its local subsidiary in China, Kubota Agricultural Machinery (SUZHOU) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "KAMS"), in January 2013. By establishing a local manufacturing operation, Kubota will improve its cost competitiveness, strengthen our ability to react quicker to market demands and ultimately increase tractor sales in the Chinese market.

Does it come with zero percent financing option? 😂 Or after you share your personal data they take everything and keep the tractor.

I would rather spend 10x as much of my hard-earned money than give the CCP $0.01 of my money. I ACTIVELY search for products that are not owned or produced in China. I don't buy "Smithfield" bacon, because it is a Chinese company, along with thousands of other responsible decisions. Sorry. Not sorry.

heck I can't import a Ford Ranger from the USA to Canada........
I am surprised that you can’t buy a vehicle in the US and pay the import/licensing taxes. It may not be financially favorable, but can’t that be done?

yes it can be done. very easy to do. Happens every day of the week. Dealerships full of used US vehicles for sale in Canada. I know a guy who when retired does this as a sideline gig. When dollars were par he couldn't keep up. Slower now.

New ones are another story. I know Audi and Land Rover both do not allow dealers to sell vehicles to people whose intention is to remove them from the USA. Not sure on other brands.

There are several problems with importing a machine from overseas, especially from China. Other than the import paperwork and fees, there are emissions (EPA) and safety (OSHA) regulations that the machines have to meet. There is a person in another forum that imported a small trackhoe from China and documented the process. He knew ahead of time that the engine would never be approved so he bought it minus the engine. Once it was in the US and finally satisfied customs and paid the fees, he then had to find an engine and get it to fit. Once that was done he still had the issue with parts availability. If I remember correctly it took over a year from clearing customs to having one that was operational. He was mechanic and in the end, I think it was only marginally less expensive and did not account for his time.

I buy local or domestic when i can find the quality I am looking for from a trusted source…I’ll pay for USA made , but it’s got to be quality….but on something like a tractor, I would certainly prioritize dealer and after sale service…even if buying oversees is a legit operation, parts available and service are a priority for me. Country of origin really doesn’t mean much to me once I decide I can’t buy what a I want (local made and quality) within reason locally….but there would need to be some known/reputable parts/service network for me to have confidence to buy overseas. Buyer beware though if going online to buy something if not local sales/service/parts.

re: Ranger
based upon 2 years ago, when I decided to retire my 97 F150....
Here in Canada, Ford ONLY sells 4WD Rangers ( 6 types...), my southern friends say Ford sells 2wd though...
I contact federal guv about importing the new 2021 2wd Ranger from dealer (or private sale ) and was told NO, I cannot import it as none are SOLD here in Canada, Same make/model ...no problem. 'old' vehicles , no problem.
It's actually all on the fed's website.......
so much for NAFTA.......

Importing a vehicle to Canada can be a headache.

I imported a small British car (Austin Mini (from Wales) in 2005 and it was bad then, but I understand it's worse now.
Back in 2005 the car/truck/whatever had to be minimum of 15yrs old--no exceptions.

As Jay mentioned, on new vehicles, some(maybe even I could say MOST) are IMPOSSIBLE to import. Hard no.

The number of hoops you have to jump through (even for older cars) would probably surprise the average American.
