I have a question I seem to have a issue going on with my PTO, the lever used to raise my PTO has a scale 1-8 I think with 8 being fully raised. My problem occurs when I try to go to 8, it causes the hydraulics to whine and the front end loader will raise very very slow. If I lower the lever to about 6 or 7 the whine stops and the FEL works normal. I have never noticed this before and a dealer is over 100 miles away. Any ideas. The fluid is a little over half in the sight glass with the PTO up and the FEL down and flat. Thanks

It's raising too far and going into relief, the feedback rod from the 3pt to the valve will need adjustment, may be something in your operator manual, have a look for the rod and make adjustment, possible the adjuster has come loose.

There should be two bolts on the lever. Loosen them up and adjust so that it can't go too high. My 5100 does this fairly often. I put a bolt and a nut at the top of the slot to stop mine from going to high.

THe proper way to adjust is to remove implements, then adjust the feedback rod so that with the hitch lifted all the way it should have about 3/4 to 1 1/4" of free-travel, meaning you should be able to manually lift the arms up about 3/4" by hand with the lever moved to full lift position. Don't ignore your issue because I've seen them dead-head, overheat the oil, ruin hydrualic pumps, and on one or two MX's there's enough pressure inside the cylinder to explode the entire cast iron housing it sits in, which obviously is an expensive fix (differential housing, etc).
