I recently had 2 hydraulic hoses on some new equipment come apart on me. First time it happened, it did right when I turned to looked back and I got it on the side of the face/head. The hose just pulled out of the crimped on end. Im no hydraulic expert, but I do know the hose should never come out of a crimped on fitting. A hose rupturing,,,,that happens. Top top this off, the other hose did the same thing, except this time the implement was sitting on the drive way, not even hooked to the tractor. Im guessing there was a bad batch of hoses from a problem with a crimping machine or any employee not paying close enough attention. I wont say the manufacturer or what equipment it was until I see how this is handled by them. I will give them a shot to make this right before busting them online for it.

WOW, that is scary, I do hope they take care of it fully and to your satisfaction!
Mechanical problems can happen, but manufacturing something in a manner that is not safe is a not right!

It's possible---since you didn't state manufacturer---that what you have is non-crimp screw-together-grip field-repair hydraulic hose end used when it probably shouldn't be.

Field-expedient hydraulic hose repair ends have their place, but most won't take the higher pressures of tractor system. Always go with true crimped hoses given the choice.

I'd be real interested in hearing what you discover and how this experience resolves. Please post back, especially if the maker makes good.

I had the end blow off my loader supply line last year in the hay field. Sometimes the ends will and do just blow off the line. I have seen this many times at the quarry over the years.

If your dealer makes it up then you have a good bunch to work with. Hyd lines are not covered under warranty and normally they won't fix them for free. I mean if it's leaking when delivered they'll jump right on that and make you happy but most of the time you're on your on after that. Keep us posted.

I know hydraulic hoses are considered a wear item normally not covered under warranty. However this was a new piece of equipment, the 2nd time being used with 1.5 hours of use, if that much. Being a faulty part, the manufacturer replaced the first hose and Im sure will be replacing this 2nd hose also. Im suppose to receive a phone call this afternoon yet, so I should know today... I hope whats going on. Also, the manufacturer is replacing the hoses, not my dealer.

These are in fact crimped on ends. I know hoses do rupture, but ends crimped on should not come off. These came off clean, no chunks of hose broke off in the fitting, they just came completely off, the hose isnt tore up at all on either of the ends. The 2nd hose was the msot odd as it came apart with the implement just sitting by itself in the driveway, not hooked up. That one had to be awful close to blowing off the last time used.

I will surely post what happens when I know.

Ok, this was on a new Land Pride power rake. Their service was very good. They were responsive to my emails and also called me to discuss the problem and then again today to make sure the dealer contacted me with what was going on. Both bad hoses went back to Land Pride, and they took the replacement hose I had picked up also is going back. The dealer made up 2 new hoses in their shop and I got some hydraulic fluid to replace what was lost when the hoses let go. Sounds like a bad batch of hoses. When I picked up the replacement last weekend, first thing I noticed was the country of origin was Thailand. I would of thought a big place like that would make their own hoses, but I guess not. While the bad hoses sucked for me, they did well on service and getting things right. Oh, and the power rake works great.
