The hydraulic control valve pump is leaking. Looks like 3 O Rings and a plug.
The work shop manual mentions that one of the bolts needs sealing tape.
Is that Teflon tape??
How much stuff do I need to remove to repair it?

Hydraulic control valve pump? Three o rings and a plug? Where is this component located on the tractor?

OK - the hydraulic pump. If you think it's leaking at the base have you tried snugging up the attaching bolts?

Dan
Yes, I did. They are pretty snug. This is a new to me tractor with 850 hours on it. It seems the original owner may have overfilled the transaxle.

The vent for the hydraulic system is over and behind the pump, are you sure it's not leaking from there.
If it was over filled it would have spit fluid out of the vent.

The vent was the first place I looked. I have been watching it and it's dry.
The leak is definitely from the bottom part of the pump assembly.
