It only took me 11 hours to break the plastic grille on my new MX4900. I'm glad I got that over with! Now it matches the L3901 I traded in last week.
(I thought I was being careful, using the grapple on some invasive brush.)

How long did it take you?

Never... or not yet.

I use a grapple and live on a tree farm / forest.

But I do baby my tractors a bit.

From experience with a previous tractor, I installed a grill guard soon after buying my current tractor.

Yep, know that feeling!

I dented my hood the first couple days of upgrading to my current tractor in '23. Bet she didn't even have 5 or 6 hours on her yet.

Then busted the heck out of the grill a couple months ago.

She's been gone a month now at the dealer getting a new hood and grill.

Never. Had/ have a grill guard on each of them. First thing I put on my L5460 was a grill guard before I did anything with it.

PDQ - certainly within the first 50 hours. Silly me - I figured the OEM grille guard would be adequate. Fortunately the replacement grilles are "cheap".

About 6 months. Grapple work, stacking brush/limbs on the burn pile when a limb pushed against the plastic grill causing a minor break. Then I added steel expanded-metal to fit in the open spaces in the factory guard.

I'm too smart for that- I made sure and buy a used tractor with a pre-broken grille 😂

Been lucky after 3 years of ownership, still in one piece. Have had some close calls. Probably jinxed myself. Should get one mounted though. Anyone sell custom fit grills?

I haven't broken my grille yet, but have bent up the factory "guard" on my BX. Time to find an aftermarket one that actually has some strength to it.
