Hello. First time Kubota owner.

Howdy.
Not new to forums but new to tractors and Kubotas.
I picked up a 4wd B8200D gear shift a few weeks back. At first I was only pulling my yard cart around with it and of course, it handled it no problem. Now I picked up a King Kutter 60" box blade because I want to smooth and level out some extremely rough (old farm field turned pasture) grassy areas on my property. I have a 72" JD797 that can run 12mph but if you tried to mow that fast, you'd be swallowing teeth and beating the machine to death. Anyway, my 8200 has turf tires on it and as you suspect, I'm having problems using the BB with the turf tires. So I'm in the process of researching what it takes to swap to AG tires. Which turns out is not an easy prospect.
If anyone has any pointers, my current turf tires are 13.6-16 rear and 24x8.5-12 front.

I found some info on tire size, on this site....

It also lists a 12.4-16 AG tire. Problem i've been reading on a handful of different forums and a multitude of different threads related to this specific topic, is having to change wheels to get the correct tire rolling circumference, to maintain F/R ratio while in 4wd. Seems like everything leads to a dead end.

Chains may work but I don't know as I don't have any experience in this area. Don't they cost about as much as tires do?

That is place I got my info too - and yes you will need to change rims....that is going to be very $$$$ in the short run! Chains will be far cheaper, and easier to remove when not needed - pulling chains on hard surfaces will wear them quickly too - if just in the "field" you will be fine for a long time! Lots of places to get chains based on tire sizes. Shipping usually is the expensive part - you might be able to find some local too.
Are you using 4wd when using the box blade? IF not - do so, and you might need to add weight to front of machine too!

Definitely using 4wd. 5 scarifiers sunk in, will bring the machine to a dead stop in 1 low, leaving the tires spinning in place. I have 165lbs of ballast (OEM suitcase weights) hanging off the front too. Turf tires just don't cut it for this kind of work.

I will look into the chains. I know chains work I just don't think they would be better then AG tires in soft top soil. I get they'd be better then what I have but I'm trying not to spend money twice. Hate to get chains and not be happy with them and up getting AG's anyway.
