Ha thank you for the detailed information about this forum. I am getting worried that I may have missed somebody or that I didn’t respond to somebody and I don’t want anybody to think I am rude or anything. Everybody has been so kind and helpful!

A blade on a deck should not come loose. That's why we asked to check the washers, shims etc. and to use the correct tightening torque.

It would be a good idea to check the other blades too.

Yes, actually I had somebody check it and the whole assembly is loose. And it will not tighten up. A new spindle has been ordered and hopefully that will fix it.
However, I did remember something and please don’t laugh… I crashed into a crêpe myrtle with the deck about a week ago, could that have damaged that? It was on the same side also.

I run right over volunteer crepe myrtles with my 6.5 hp Toro mower all the time. If your Land Pride wussed out over one little ol crepe myrtle you need to upgrade. :cautious:

What you describe sounds more like traumatic damage as opposed to normal wear. Not quite clear if the crash involved the deck only, blade only, or both. When you replace the spindle, check the blade to ensure it isn’t bent, check the blade to ensure it’s level when installed (deck isn’t bent where the spindle attaches), and the blade spins without hitting the deck. Hopefully replacing the spindle fully resolves the issue.
