Hi,

I purchased a BX2680 with a loader and rear blower in October of 2018. I have approximately 10 hours on the loader so I was greasing all the required areas shown in the manual. It looks like an a grease fitting was missed. I attached a picture, can this be correct?

Thanks a lot, I am far from a mechanic.

Yep - hard to tell from the picture, but looks like somethin's missing!

If you take out it's mate on the other arm, take it to the dealer to get a new one. Other option is go to:

https://kubota.ca/en/parts-services/parts-catalogue

Agree to legal, put in your LOADER model #, and you should be able to find the part #. (I can't get into the Canadian version of the parts catalog.)

FOOTNOTE: If it's an LA344 FEL, looks like it's a 1/4x 28 grease fitting - can buy them at any tractor/farm/auto store, or Kubota P/N 75599-81520.

Thanks,

Just waiting on a response from my salesman. Probably Not until Monday now. Could this have been missed, I can’t see it just popping out?

When it was greased last ...seems the zerk may have got stuck in the nozzle of the grease gun...or fell out. Sometime getting the right size zerk is hit or miss too! I bought a whole bag once......all of them would not fit!:p

If you don't have any luck with the dealer....and even if you do. ;)
The safest way to get the correct size grease fitting is to pull out his "brother", (same fitting on the other side), grease fitting and take it to someplace like Tractor Supply and use their thread gauge to verify size of thread and English or Metric.

Thanks for the replies. I’m going into my Kubota location on Monday. Hopefully showing them the picture, they should be able to provide me with the correct one. And I think 85Hokie you are correct about the initial greasing, that makes a lot of sense to me.

Thanks again

It's also possible the threads are damaged, in which case you can install an oversize zerk.

It does indeed appear that a zerk fitting is missing.

Consider yourself lucky.

A few years ago, I bought a HD Edge grapple bucket.

I'm anal, so even though new grease was evident on all greaseable locations, except one, I regreased anyway. All took except the previously mentioned one. Efforts with two grease guns and an impact driver proved futile.

Busy and need grapple so put of for awhile.

Eventially, found that the hole for the zerk for the fitting that would not take grease was not drilled fully through.

Things happen.

Alemite (zerk) fittings are cheap and available about at any auto parts of farm store. I keep an assortment so when one fails (and they do), I just replace it.

Calling the dealer about it (other than to express displeasure) to me seems futile in as much as the availability and ease of replacement.
