Before my standard wash down procedure I noticed a place on my front( steering assembly ?) on my lawn tractor that appears to have something missing. If I look in to this hole I can see a gear or two for steering or drive I assume . There doesn't appear to be any oil, or lube of any kind ,or any threads for a plug of some sort. Can you advise before I load it up & take it to my local dealer ? ( About a 30 minute drive taking my trailer through the toll drawbridge.)Seems like it would have to be a rubber plug of some kind, and some gear lube needed.Im not able to find it in the legendary Kubota parts diagrams. hopefully you'll be able to see the attached photo. Thanks in advance. Previous posts/ replies have been helpful.

Yep your missing the plug/dipstick (#230).
Ok, thanks . I wasn't able to locate that particular diagram. I tangled with my bushes and briars wrapping around me and the mower! I can get a replacement and check the fluid level. Is it the steering gear box or what ?

Are you taking about the parts diagram? If so I think it was front differential. ;)

Oh and if you wanted to get the part someplace other than Coleman's (My go to parts supplier), it's P/N K1261-15250

I'm not at all familiar with that model, but if Wolfman identified your missing part as a "Dipstick," that tells me there should be some kind of fluid in there!

You might want to check service specs, schedules, etc., since it might need some attention.;)

Best of luck!

The front drive gear should be filled with UDT until the dipstick touches the oil, the information is in the maintenance section of you operations manual. I think it gets changed every 200 hours.
