Have a B7200E (2wd, 8-speed stick, front mount PTO) that has a 60" 3-blade deck (RC60-72A mid-mount-mower).

I picked up some Kubota-brand blades (Part number 70000-25006) and they fit perfectly (obviously as they are the correct Kubota number).

The blades are 2" wide, 3/16" thick, 20-7/16" long, with a 23/32 diameter hole.

I've used the Oregon Gator Blades before on my old Husqvarna push mower, and my dad has some Gator blades on his Kubota. In both cases, the blades cut phenomenal, much better than stock.

Oregon use to make an OEM style blade for my tractor, part number 91-429, but was discontinued in 2016, and isn't much help anyway as is it a stock-style blade, not a Gator style.

Using the online catalog, and looking at the blade specs, I did find one that was very similar. Part number 96-319 is 2-1/2" wide, .203 thick, 20-1/2" long, and has a 5/8" hole.

I'd have to open the hole up to the correct size, and may have to kiss the ends if the length is an issue (I doubt it will being only 1/16" longer).

Does this sound like this would work? Or am I asking for trouble by modifying a blade like this? I'd obviously have to make sure it is balanced so I don't wreck any of my spindles / bearings.

Thanks!

I would NOT modify ..... as the spec for that mower are what you say and based on net info you are spot on with those numbers, I would say no grinding off here or there......

I ran across this site which spec their blades...... notice how it says "11/16" hole and then specs that in decimal as ..... .718" ..... and most will see quickly they be a bit off 11/16 = .6875 and the correct spec of 23/32 is that .718 - so what this tells me is that SOME manufactures give a nominal size (much like a 2x4) and then hopefully give the decimal correct size.

Another thing to remember - most companies talk about there blade length NOT from tip to tip , rather like a TV, it is a diagonal measurement.

In another post LUBBOLT mentions a problem that most do NOT take in consideration, the specs on thickness are maybe more important than any other!!!
