Put ”0” rings on plungers in injection pump. When we cranked it it ran wide open and throttle had no effect. Now when we try to crank it it souds like metal rubbing together inside engine. It did not run away, it ran fast. Thanks, hal
Yes I pulled one plunger and at bottom there is a fork with ballin middle. Should I pull all 3 and make sure they are all pointing same way?If the delivery valves are even inadvertently turned It turns them away from the control rack. You may have to uninstall it and send it to a pump shop....
Same type as picture, correct? The rack in question is under the screwed in plate. It controls the rate of fuel delivery. Could try to pull it and try to realign them, but be ready to shut it off if you try it. Do not try to change the physical length of any of them. Delivery is affected, but also injection timing which is of high importance to running. Of course this is all aassuming you're mechanically inclined, if not, I'd recommend sending it off.
Forgot the metal on metal noise. Sorry. Something likely fell. Have it rebuilt. While it's out look at the injection pump cam as if anything fell it would hit that first. Afterwards probably in the oil pan and won't hurt anything. Might come out the drain might not. Have the shop let you know if anything's missing.Yes I pulled one plunger and at bottom there is a fork with ballin middle. Should I pull all 3 and make sure they are all pointing same way?
