Hi All,

I am a first time owner of any kind of tractor, let alone Kubota. It all started when I bought a piece of land next to my family home in the UK, only a small bit, previously an arable field. We had it seeded as grassland and have been tending it for the last two seasons, mowing regularly to help the grass establish. The issue has been that I only had a small ride-on mower - it took hours every week. Something had to be done! I bought a 1998 L2550 along with a flail mower a few months ago. It has had a few issues that are being attended to but there is one thing that I have got to get to grips with. It has a front end loader (BF400G-C) that is useful around the yard, I run a small tree company and it is great for turning the chip pile, loading logs etc. I have a mind to do some meadow maintenance and would like to be able to take the loader off but have no idea how. I have searched online for an operators manual and can't find anyone that will ship to the UK and to download a PDF version is about $100! I wonder if anyone can help or offer advice on where I can find one that is a little more reasonable? Thanks in advance.

Hi Cypher,

Thanks for the suggestion. I have downloaded the operators manual for the tractor from the site but they don't have one for the loader.

I didn't find any good pics of one but it looks like it comes off just like the LA450S. If you're still having trouble finding info take a couple pics of the front of the tractor, bucket and the sub-frame area.

Hi Bulldog. I found a clip on YouTube by Vic from Orange Tractor Talk showing the removal of a front loader from a 6200 that looks promising. Think I’ll give it a go and keep you posted. Thanks for your suggestion.

The removal and reinstall process is much easier if you are on a concrete slab, or at least something solid and flat.

Job done! Really chuffed, feel like I e achieved something. A combination of helpful pointers and suggestions and a few more searches online and the loader has been off and put back on again! Thanks for all the help, much appreciated.
