I see a thread on this front axle pin related to a B7200 and it brought to mind my M4700 which the WSM indicates has a grease-zerk to lubricate the centering pin.
My ‘96 M4700 does not have the zerk and I have considered drilling and installing a zerk... or ordering the later PN/housing to accomplish the same.

Sooo... I was wondering if the Wolfman or other more-experienced owner/operators had any thoughts on this matter?
Thanks.

It's never a bad Idea to change to the newer parts.

I think the cases would have cuts in the case to allow the grease to flow all around the pin.

If you do drill the cases, you'll need to also add a second plug on the opposite side of the front case bracket to allow air and extra grease to escape, the rear will allow air and extra grease to escape out the seal.

Don't over grease it. ;)
