Ive found a 2023 L3560 grand thats new sold by a Kubota dealer. It has a four way loader bucket. Im on the fence mainly because of the bucket. But maybe you can help clear up some of my concerns or questions. I could package another stock bucket in with the purchase. This tractor will do a lot of loader work digging gravel and rocks moving and leveling a long driveway and a lot of just land smoothing that will require loader and box scraper work.

The price is decent its not an amazing deal but its enough tractor at a price I can accept.

The 4 in 1 bucket is going to be probably at least 50% heavier, which means there is that much less weight of material you can lift with it ... However it also means it comes plumbed with the hydraulics up front which isn't a cheap option ...

I'd probably opt for a standard bucket to go along with it.

4 in 1 bucket is heavier and tends to be more rugged than a standard bucket. They are great for grabbing and moving objects as they appear when you are digging and leveling material, things like bigger rocks, sticks, logs etc. They also are great when loading over something high sided because you can just open the bucket up to dump. We always had 1 of our 3 payloaders set up with a 4 in 1 bucket over the 40 years we had them.

I would personally prefer having the standard bucket. 4 way will never have the lifting ability of a grapple, nor will it be as good as a regular bucket for moving gravel, because of the weight.

As for the blade and box scrapper functions of it - I believe tractors are better suited to work off the rear of. You will have far better control and visibility dragging a box behind you than in front of you off the loader.

I can see the potential on maybe a skid steer or wheel loader for a 4 way, but I'm not convinced for a tractor. Maybe I just don't have enough experience with one to fully appreciate it.

I once owned an L6060 (recently sold) with FEL and Kubota 4-way bucket. The bucket was sometimes handy but always heavy, reducing payload significantly. The only thing that I used it for was occassionally picking up drift wood or cut logs from downed trees. I would not buy another one.

Agreed.

I once watched an experienced skid steer operator using a 4-way bucket to move and level crushed stone in preparation for pouring a concrete floor for one of my post buildings. Guy was an artist and the 4-way bucket was the cat's meow for his work but I found the one on my L6060 to be of limited usefulness.
