First Orange Tractor and a few possibly stupid questions

I'm not new to tractors, but I am new to Kubota. I just bought a 2009 M9540, cab, 4wd, loader with 1700 hours on it. First impressions are all very positive. It will be used for feeding cows, mowing, discing, planting, etc.
Couple questions:
When checking the hydraulic oil, my dip stick has two lines. Are these cold/hot lines or are they low/full lines? Do I check with tractor running or off?

My 3 pt hitch seems to not lift very high. It does not act like mower is too heavy or hydraulic isn't working. It acts more like there is a range setting or something that needs to be adjusted. I fiddled with the feedback rod and it doesn't make a difference. Also seems like the lift doesn't respond till the position lever is 3/4 up. Draft control lever is all the way down. This might just be a kubota thing. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Lastly, the engine throttle control lever is also very slow to respond. Zero change in engine rpm until half way point.

Any help is appreciated. I've ordered a service manual, but if they are like the case and deere manuals, they'll be lacking in details.

the lines are low and high marks
off and after sitting at least 30 minutes
could be a lot of things causing 3ph to act like that--grab your service manual and check everything out

When you look in the manual, I believe there is an adjustment for the lift lever. there are specs in there for the correct adjustment and how much ‘play’ is allowed before the lift activates.

Manual was a big help. Was able to get the lift to come up higher by adjusting the position control on the lift arm. Also found out how long the threaded rod is. Scared the crap out of me, but had sense enough to unhook the mower first thank God.

I don't really understand how to check the acceptable float range. Can anyone translate the manual for me?

On the throttle control: I was able to adjust the cable that the lever moves and increase the rpm sensitivity to about whatever I want. My question is what should the full throttle rpm be? I couldn't find it anywhere. It was only 2000 rpm before adjusting but don't want to over do it.
