Just did the first hydraulic filter change on MX4700 with manual transmission. Owner's manual states 400 hours but I decided to do it a little early at 200 hours. Cutting the paint at the seam helped a lot, filter came off no problem. Fluid shows glimmers of very fine shavings but not extreme. Probably would have been better to change the filter at 50 hours but was going by what manual says. I noticed a couple of larger chunks on the magnet and wanted to compare to what others have found on their magnet after the first filter change. I have attached a couple of photos of mine. Not sure if this looks normal??

Would appreciate if others would also show some photos of theirs!!

Thanks in advance!!

There's similar pictures here on OTT.

Can't say that it's excessive, but does speak to doing services sooner than later.

Magnet and filter did their job. I wouldn't sweat it.
