Every time I hook up my fel hydraulic hose's I always have problems getting them reattached (quick couplings) today as in the past I have waited for the pressure to go down as well as move the fel controls to release pressure but no luck. Is there something I am missing or a secret to this? Appreciate any thoughts. Thanks Terry OBTW my tractor is a l 2502 with a la525 fel

The secret is to ensure that the loader hydraulics are balanced. If it shifts after it’s off the loader, chances are it’s putting pressure on one of the lines, making it difficult to reattach. I’m careful when I take them off so that there’s NO pressure on the lines then when it’s disconnected, I couple the lines to each other.

A change in temperature can also increase the pressure inside the lines. Most likely the hoses were disconnected under pressure or the loader has shifted. I always cut the tractor off and move the joystick to all positions several times before I unhook my hoses.

Thanks i will be careful the next time I unhook the board next timr. I have learned since that I could tap the needle in the coupling with a hammer and wood fowl to release the preasure.

Be sure to cover it with a towel or something while tapping it with the hammer and dowel. If it is under a lot of pressure it could penetrate your skin.

Not sure if you are, but as Russel says, you need to turn off tractor and relieve the pressure with the loader joystick before you unhook them. Doing it this way I have never had a problem.
