OK so if i wasn't convinced my tractor is haunted
I am Now
Just did my 50hr service, oil and filter, Hst fluid and filter,
air filter and fuel filters,
All went swimmingly except for the oil filter put on by Hercules
had to buy a seperate tool just for the filter, not a problem.
Started up all fluids dead on the mark.
Only now my engine coolant temp light is on,
now is this odd did I hit a wire or sending unit battling the oil filter?
OR am I completely nuts and it has been on all the time since new and
I just didn't notice (entirely possible further senility) setting in.
anyway had to ask.

Damn - I know this is an old one, but it just happened to me too. Did the oil change, put in Shell Rotella T-6, OEM filters, and now the light is on. Hoping someone will chime in.

In the process, could the sending unit wire be pinched and now grounding out? Check that wire that runs from the sending unit and see if it is somehow pinched against something else metal.

I’ll have to take a look. Is this something that could get punched when reinstalling the engine shroud?

Ok - I figured it out. Clear id-10t issue. I was looking at the icon for the temperature gauge and my brain registered that as an error light. I went out and fired it up this afternoon and couldn’t believe I thought there was a problem.
