Do I need to lightly run this new tractor for a period of time before brush hogging or a tiller? And if so how many hours.
My understanding is that a 60's series tractor should be operated at at a minimum of 1,800 rpm to have Tier 4 emmisions working properly.
Thanks!

Except for being easy for the first hour or so run it like you normally would. Being gentle for hours and hours is an old myth that will not die.

As the others said take it easy at first. Your owners manual should have the propper break-in procedure listed.

I pretty much went by the manual on our tractors and was able to bush hog the first day of use, as mentioned, vary RPM occasionally; no need to baby them, I just didn't run max RPM.
