Good evening. Looking forward to getting my new M7060 redelivered in the coming days. In addition to some options I had the dealer installing, I had them trying to reduce the pto engagement speed. When I was demoing the tractor, the pto engages so fast that the mx cutter would make all kinds of noise to get going. This was with tractor at idle and pto in E. There is no "feathering" the switch.

Anyway, dealer said there was an orifice that may can be changed out and slow down the rate. Today they called and said there was no orifice but was going to install a manual value in the line (don't know where) that would allow plenty of adjustment to the engagement speed without affecting running speed or power.

Surely I'm not the first that has brought this up. Anyone else?

Personally I have not read or heard of any clutch issues on that model.
Also I think you would be foolish to have them cut and bolt on any aftermarket part on a new state of the art tractor!
There isn't any others reporting any issues so I would think either there is an adjustment that your dealer has no clue about or that tractor as a problem with the PTO clutch, Kubota brochure states:

Hydraulic Independent PTO
Pulling, lifting, cutting or baling; the
hydraulic independent PTO makes
your toughest work easier. Selfmodulation
engagement with an
Electric PTO Switch means implements
like a rear cutter engage smoothly. The
PTO brake engages when the clutch is
shut off and securely holds the PTO
shaft. The PTO clutch can be
hydraulically engaged and disengaged

on the go. This means mowing,
operating hay equipment or spraying
orchards are all made more efficient.

From what I understand, it's not an aftermarket part. Comes from Kubota.

I have never used a Kubota with elec pto but have used several other colors (brands) with this option. Personally, I have yet to see a elec pto that engages smoothly. I don't like them at all. I can understand your concern.

I don't know if what your dealer is doing will help but I'll say this though. The 540E pto is great as long as you have enough HP to power the implement you're pulling at the lower engine rpm's.

Well that's a little different, but I would still worry that someone hasn't done his job right (tech, engineer, assembler). ;)

I guess the bottom line is get it in writing that warranty will cover any damage resulting in them changing the system, like a clutch failure.

I have one on my L5740, I prefer the lever style I had on my L5030 and 8540, but don't find the electric problematic.

We have larger John Deeres, 7810s, 7200r, 8430s, etc. that engage about as smooth as you can do it from the handle on the older ones. Plus when I demo'd the 5075e, it did fine with the cutter as well.

I say it was supplied by Kubota...well, they told me the regional manager was the one supplying it. Guess we will see how it does.

My friend has a 5085E and a 5105E, on disc mowers, tedders and baler it seems to work well. Starting a batwing it seemed much to ruff for my taste. I guess it's what you are used to.
