I have a 1989 BX2230D that has been a very reliable machine. I have done a good deal of maintenance on it and still ran strong until day before yesterday. The wife was operating it, shut it off to talk to me about the fencing we were working on and when she tried to start it the starter turned over just fine but would not fire. Carried it to the shop and checked the fuel filter, even replaced them. Checked the fuel pump and is not getting voltage to the pump. When the key is turned on it does not energize the hour meter or anything else on the dash. It does engage the solenoid for the kill switch, but that is it. When you turn the switch to start it engages the starter, but there is no fuel to the injector pump, thus it does not start. I have checked the fuses. There was one 15amp fuse that was burnt pretty badly as well as the fuse holder, but there is no voltage to that fuse holder or any of the fuses.
I suspect a short, a disconnect, or possibly a fusible link. It is strange that it was running fine then all of a sudden quite.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
