For shooting at the range, a larger profile is definitely more fun. My Ruger GP-100 in .357 is really nice to shoot, but then I could never use it as a CCW. The Sig p-938 is sweet for that and I will have it if needed. What good is a larger gun with a great hand feel if it’s sitting at home when you need it? View attachment 161222
Yep, You are spot on…that’s why I have a p938 too. ☺. (I don’t use the magazine extensions or I could not get it in my box)

Skeet’s, that HK would be my choice for sure. Hammer fired, manual safety and a decocking lever would give me the safety insurance I look for. The one I looked up was a 10 round mag.

I have a p365 with the manual safety. But I can’t get past those striker fired pistols relying on about .030” of a metal pin stopping it from firing. I know, I know, everyone is going to say they have been carrying for years and never had an accident. But I refuse to carry with one in the chamber and that’s just me.

I know a guy who found the perfect pistol (several times). One is this Springfield compact LW. He found it at the LGS and it followed him home. Before it had any miles on it, he spent a lot of time wearing the knife-sharp edges off of it. Then it made a trip to Robar (RIP) for their NP3 finish.

Here's a shot of a "friend's" Sig P938 (top left) with extended mag. Supposedly this person has another extended mag (15 rounder) for this little pocket pistol. Looks funny as hell with it.

Ruger SR1911 Lightweight Commander in acp (bottom left). Aluminum main frame, titanium feed ramp so hollow points ain't an issue at all.

I've got several that I COULD carry all the time but it seems most of the time my go-to is my S&W Model 60 in .357 magnum, adjustable sights. It just works for me. And fired single action it is super accurate - no problem making the steel clang at 50 yards. The trigger is just so sweet compared to, say, my Sig P365 Macro. Sure...the Sig carries 18 rounds and the Model 60 only 5 - but my philosophy is that I should need only 1 round to take care of a problem. These days I stay out of crowded cities!

Couple questions?

Where can I get that in an ultra compact model? (I’d like 3)

what do you recommend for holster…would that be a el passo saddlery tank holster or would it be better in a Miami shoulder rig if wearing a sport coat about town?
I've got a guy in Uzbekistan that's got a hacksaw and a hammer. he'll fix you right up. :sneaky:
Go down south to get the good tooling for the holster. Them northerners just wanna put a furry collar on it.

Your "friend" has good taste in guns...I love my "friends" GSG....

It's cheap practice for using a 1911. (The suppressor is a nice "bonus" too!!!)

Love that thing too...well my "friend's" GSG. It runs like a sewing machine and easily connects at 50 yards. Yes, the fake can that came with it really completes the package. Funny thing is, it's actually louder with the "can" on it.

My friend has another very sweet shooter in 9mm as well. One of my favorites to shoot.
