Im getting ready to drain the hydraulic fluid on my L245F.
If I understand correctly there is a main drain plug on the underside.
Also dont I need to remove the plugs to drain the left and right axle cases as well ?
Im going to clean the fluid screen/filter assy (because I dont have a spin on filter) while its empty so Im going to have an o-ring to replace, weather it needs it or not. Is there any any other o-rings, parts, or steps that I might be forgetting before I do this job ?
Thanks

I've never worked on that model but I believe they're all pretty much the same. It sounds like you're on the right track and yes you will need to drain the axle cases.

Thanks Bulldog.
I just seen where there is one drain on the trans, one on the rear case, and the two for both side axle cases.

I suggest you get a new screen filter, spring, and o-ring since you can get them all at the same time

Thanks thats a good idea.
Im going to be a few days before I get my new seat and steering box so I might get those to have them on hand.
I really want to run the tractor around for several minutes on a hot day and then drain. Ive heard thats always best.

Open the drains and leave them until your parts come in and it will be as well drained as if you waited until you ran in a while, maybe even better! Whatever is left in the cavities, whether you heat the oil or not, will be diluted with the new oil, and the new filter will do it's job.
