I found this picture on another site posted 22 years ago by a BX tractor owner. Does such a piece of filter armor exist for purchase or was this a DIY project?

I know about BXpanded Armor - I own it in fact. But managed to puncture my hydro filter while mowing.

Thanks!

You can tell by also added accessory of duct tape on the mid PTO shaft. 🤣

It wouldn't be hard to find a local fabricator who could make one.

This(#010) HST fan cover, is on my 2018 BX23S....only $30 in Canada..seems to work OK.. I loosen top 2 bolts, remove the 2 lower, swing it down for easier access to change filter. That 'stout' homemade unit would have to come off (?) and cost more that the OEM cover.

I installed a skid plate, that protects the hydraulic filter and the HST fan. There are a few vendors of these, including TractorAttachments, BXpanded and Bro-tek (Canadian, which I have). However, some will work with the MMM, others will not.
The Bro-Tek allows a plate that can be removed, to allow the mid-PTO/shaft to operate, like with a front mounted snowblower, while still covering the filter and fan.
