If you let the grass get too long. Any Mower will clump up.

As in wind Rowing? @GP Outdoors has a few vids on his Land Pride unit.

With my 60" MMM with the discharge chute down I find the clippings more noticeable vs raised. I drilled a small hole on the end of mine and use a rubber strap to keep it lifted. From what I have seen of a rear finish mower and my hope for the one I have ordered is that with each blade having its own discharge the clippings are hardly even noticeable.

I find it surprisingly good. The side discharge Ford 916B leaves a row from all three blades, the rear discharge FDR1660 spreads the clippings out evenly behind, even if the grass is a bit long.

My rear discharge finish mower leaves as little clumping/windrows as possible. Of course if you cut high enough grass the cuttings will be visible. I cut a 2.75 acre field every 2-3 weeks, and it looks very good.
