Very nice machine. Only problem We have is the dealer said the 5800 doesn't have a 3rd function option. He's trying to figure out why. Curious why

Anyway. Sounds like I will get the mx5800 hst 4x4 with top n tilt. 3 remotes box blade with scarifiers. Loader with bucket. Filled tires. Skid steer style post hole digger for 40,500. With insurance.

Sound like a good deal?

Seat isn't too bad. But is there any companies that do anything aftermarket for tractors.

Yes there is quite an assortment of aftermarket seats that will do nice at upgrading from the stock seat. ;)

Congratulations on the new tractor. I used an mx5100 for a couple hours last night to take the weight off the back end of a piece of equipment to split it for a field repair  that was a really sweet tractor :D

Congratulations, those are really nice tractors. We love the three rear remotes with TnT and hydraulic rippers on our box scraper. If you can't get factory remotes, check with Fit Rite for third function, if he doesn't have it, he can tell you who does. Ken's Bolt On also offers a diverter kit if you want to save a few bucks. I have the OEM third function on my 5740 and really like it.

we haven't finalized the deal yet. he is doing non-hydraulic scarifiers on the box blade. which I think is fine. no need for it right now I don't think.

I can't believe Kubota doesn't offer some kind of 3rd function kit for these tractors? wth over.

currently debating over the light material bucket at 600, the square back for 650, and the heavy duty round back for 995. he said the light material was fine for most people and seems pretty strong. opinions? I was going to get the front and rear work light kit....but apparently they are still ancient and halogen. so I will be spending that money on some nice LED fixtures for front and back. the 4700 I went there to drive was right next to the 5800....what a difference. nice seat, better laid out controls, no clutch (never made sense in my mind why an HST tractor had a damn clutch...)

wish I had the cash to just walk in and buy like I watched a guy do while I was there. he came in and bought an X line something or other. the guy said it was a 135 hp tractor. the saleman said he does business with them all the time and just bought 3 of the new Kubota balers a month ago.

anyway. he is working on the numbers and on some final options. they charge 150$ for delivery, which I really figured they would eat....but I guess not. looking at one next to a standard L really made the decision to go MX easy. wish the MX had a tilt wheel like the grand L, that's a really nice feature. I couldn't get over how quiet and docile it was though. but the power was exceptional and a nice little turbo whine. the 4700 was a little rougher running, but was okay. I'm getting the first 50 hour service fluids and filters delivered at the same time as I'll probably hit 50 hours in 2-3 weeks easy. he said for them to do the service was 560$ pfffft. I got it. no idea how much the fluids and filters cost, but I would imagine they are not half that.

Haha. Fluids and filters for my l3940 was pretty close to 500 even. That 60 is probably one hour of shop rate.

Look up capacities, then prices. The fluid is like 26 a gallon, and I took 11 gallons. Just for reference.

If you go by the manual and don't do a full hydraulic/HST fluid change, the cost on the 50 hour won't be too bad, but that of course is an often contentious, never settled debate:

1. Cheap insurance
2. Unneeded and a waste of resources

Either way these are very easy machines to diy.

I recently got 2 LED front work lights for my M5140. What a difference! My bucket/grapple blocked the front lights unless you put them way low or way high. Got mine from www.ropslights.com. They're high quality and the kits are simple to install, but they are a little pricey compared to what you could piece together. 2 lights and kit made specifically for your tractor is $175 shipped from Canada.

I love my (mx5100) great power, in a reasonably small package. Are the mx5800's the same size as the mx4700 & mx5100's?? I traded in an L Series 3130, (I like the basics, of the MX I got,, less to go wrong) Besides the extra power the turning radius was the same.;)

Yeah same size basically. If you like the 5100, the new series is really nice.

No complaint's here, The big diff other than gobs more POWER, Is The Turbo 50HP 4-cyl sure likes the fuel.
The L series and the ones I've owned before, sure had me spoiled on the fuel they sipped. But they were in the 30hp range. I'm sure your going to become very attached,:D very quick!!!
Enjoy. As I said before, The fronts of the new ones are as nice as a tractor can be.
