A few years older than you...still have plenty of grip strength. But I've developed what the Doc calls "trigger finger"...sometimes when I bend my fingers too far they stay there, locked in place until I reach over with my other hand and straighten them back out again.
I had pretty bad trigger finger about 15 years ago, but after I sold my trucks and don't stress my hands nearly as much, it eventually went away. I can still feel the knot on the tendons of my middle fingers, but it has diminished a lot, so it no longer catches when moving through the first joint area.
When I went to the doc for it, he recommended anti-inflammatories, like Aleve to reduce the swelling of the tendons.

I suppose driving trucks a lot would cause excessive use of the middle finger. ;)
