I ate dog once. It was a little ruff going down.
When I was stationed in hawaii, we had to go to south korea for cold weather training. That is the coldest place I have ever been. Made the coldest winter in minnesota feel like a being at the beach. We were told if we went off post to visit the local town, do not go into the back alleys to eat any meat. It was kagogi (dog). A few idiots not paying attention during the briefing ate dog. Laugh at them for being stupid.

I (we) ate dog daily in Zambales Province, Philippines; we landed on Green Beach and spent a week weapons training…the food was absolutely outstanding. The number of dogs in the village we passed through upon our arrival compared to the number of dogs we saw upon our departure was obvious…but we all agreed that the one hot meal we had each day was simply spectacular and the best we ever had.

It's not the same now but back 20 years, every Veterinarian place in Raleigh had a Chinese restaurant either next door or across the street... I ain't say there was a correlation, I'm just stating facts... Whatever it was, it was always good.
I'm an equal-opportunity meat eater, and if dog and cat are that tasty, then I'm game. Bob Barker told me to help control the pet population for years, and I often see these commercials for the sad animals that nobody wants with Sarah McLachlan singing in the background. I'm doing my part to help... :ROFLMAO:

That was supposed to be a joke. :ROFLMAO: I do hope everyone caught that "ruff".

But, complete honesty...about 40 years ago I lived next to some mexicans that always had dogs. 4-5 at any time. They made and sold really good tamales too. Sometimes, we'd notice a dog missing before they started selling them and other times, it wouldn't be until afterwards. Then a new pup would show up and the cycle would start again.

I'm not saying they used the dogs, because I also remember them killing and butchering a pig in their back yard, but I'm not saying they didn't use the dogs.

Can't say for sure what I may have eaten. There was a Chinese restaurant near our office that some of us really liked. Whatever they were feeding us was tasty and nobody ever got sick. However:

What about the 'monkey on a stick?' 🤔
Oh, yeah. Several usually, during/after an extended bar crawl through downtown Angeles. I was stationed at Clark Air Base 1970/71. Nineteen year old kid and the only thing cheaper than the beer was the wimmins. Thought I'd died and gone to heaven...

Soldiers at the front were whispering to each other, "Send reinforcements! We are going to advance! Pass it on".

When it got to the rear lines it became, "Send three and four pence! We're going to a dance!!!"
