I have a B6100 that needs an engine. Would a D600 bolt up as a replacement engine? I understand it would be less power but if it bolts up it may be a way for me to get my tractor going again as I found a engine for sale locally.
Actually a little more HP with the D600.
I don't know if it will work or not as they are 2 different series of engines, you can go with a D650, D750, D850, and D950 with minor changes, all are the same block and same flywheels.
It's a long shot that everything would match up.
Its crazy how little info can be found even when exhausting google to the very last page on these engines. If the engine would bolt up, i would figure out how to get every thing else working. The engines look nearly identical from the few pictures I can find for reference. I have noticed that the D650 has a cast bell housing where as the D600 has a sheet still adapter for mounting to whatever it was used on. I sure hate to pass up a complete good running D600 because I just can not find out if it would bolt up. The engine is about 2 hours away so its local but not local enough to go look and not bring it home.
I would stay away from a d600 for future use. This was used in Kubota garden tractors and some industrial applications. Parts are not readily available at a decent price. I have 3 of them and I intend to keep them for spare parts in the future. The 650-950 series engines are a newer design. Just my 2 cents worth.
